Orkuvordur Ltd. is the organization that ownes and operates RES | the School for Renewable Energy Science. Orkuvordur-RES was established early2006 and registered in April 20th the same
year. Shareholders are several Icelandic companies and institutions.
Although Orkuvordur Ltd. is based on a commercial law, it has a public character with non-profit aims based on its Articles of Association.
The main purpose of Orkuvordur is to provide higher education programs, and transfer of scientific knowledge in the field of renewable energy science and technologies. Orkuvordur Ltd. and the RES graduate school are both based in Akureyri, Iceland.
