Independent Consultant in Renewable Energy

Mr. Stefansson has an MPA from Harvard University and has years of public and private sector experience. His previous positions include Director of Business Development at Geysir Green Energy, the Department Head at the Ministry of Communications, a Business Consultant with the Confederation of Icelandic Employers (SA) and a Partner at Capacent Consulting, where his main focus was Corporate Strategy in the energy sector.

Dr. Thorsteinn Gunnarsson
Senior Advisor, The Icelandic Centre for Research, RANNIS

Dr. Gunnarsson holds a Ph.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of Education at Ohio University. Since 2009, he has been a Senior Advisor at RANNIS. From 1994-2009, he was Rector of the University of Akureyri. Prior to that he has been Science & Education Counsellor at the Embassy of Iceland in Brussels, Belgium and Head of Division at the Department of Higher Education and Research at the Icelandic Ministry of Science, Education and Culture.

Mr. Helgason is a Cand. jur. from the University of Iceland (1998).  His background is in banking and as a district court attorney.  His practise areas as a lawer where corporate finance, corporate and banking law and collections as a regional manager of one of Iceland‘s leading law firms. From the year 2004 Mr. Helgason has been Branch Manager of Landsbankinn - The National Bank of Iceland, in Akureyri.



Mr. Steinar Fridgeirsson

Mr. Fridgeirsson holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iceland (1970) and Electrical & Energy Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (1973). He has been involved in various committees and board member of institutions such as SAMORKA (Federation of the Icelandic Electricity Industry), NORDEL (Organisation for the Nordic Transmission System Operators) and EURELECTRIC (Union of the Electricity Industry).



Dr. Oli Gretar Blondal Sveinsson
Head of Research and Surveying at Landsvirkjun Power

Dr. Sveinsson has a degree in Physics from University of Iceland (1995) and MS (1998) and PhD (2002) degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University, United States. He has been the Head of the Research and Surveying Department at Landsvirkjun from 2004 - 2007 which at the end of 2007 became a part of Landsvirkjun Power Ltd.


Mr. Asgeir Magnusson
Manager of the Federation of Icelandic Industries Office in Northern Iceland and Project Manager of the Construction Sector.

Mr. Magnússon holds a degree of Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Århus in Denmark (1978). He is the Chairman of the Board of Nordurorka Power Company and a Board Member of the power company Þeystareykir and has experiences as chairman and board member of various companies and institutions. The background of Mr. Magnusson is in the fields of Business Development and Municipal Government.


Mr. Halldor Johannsson
CEO of KEA - Investment Company

Mr. Johannsson has been the CEO of KEA – Investment Company since 2005. He has a degree (cand.oecon) in Business Administration from University of Iceland (1996). Mr. Johannsson's background is in banking, finance and investments in leading banks and investment companies in Iceland.
