On Wednesday 26th May the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Mr. Andrey V. Tsyganov visited RES with his wife Mrs. Larisa M. Tsyganova. Dr. Björn Gunnarsson, Rector of RES, gave the Ambassador
an introduction to RES, including the M.Sc. Degree Program, RES Summer School, and international network of partner universities (RESnet). One of RES’s partner universities is
MGIMO - Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and its International
Institute of Energy Policy & Diplomacy.
A detailed cooperation agreement was signed between the two institutions in Moscow on the 21st of May, 2007. At the same time the
Russian-Icelandic Institute of Renewable Energy was established (RIIRE).
