RES will start its Executive School in the summer of 2011 by offering a number of 1-3 day individual courses/seminars on alternative energy options and strategies for executives and managers
of international energy companies, environmental organizations, financial institutions, and governmental organizations.
The short courses will highlight the latest information on available alternative energy technologies and future R&D scenarios. This includes biofuel production and use of energy carriers; hybrid
energy systems and smart energy networks; energy conversion, transport and storage; deep geothermal drilling and enhanced geothermal systems; pollution prevention technologies; and carbon capture and
carbon sequestration methods.
Other set of courses deal with the latest trends in energy economics and renewable energy policies. This includes energy efficiency assessments in industrial processes, transportation and building design; life-cycle assessments; carbon taxation policies; energy forecasts and investment opportunities in the alternative energy sector; energy planning and management; impacts of climate change and future alternative energy scenarios analysis.
The Executive School Program also combines study tours in Iceland to renewable energy power plants and utilities, and research and energy organizations.
